Coastal Village Supply will focus on three areas. We will provide teachers with routine supplies throughout the school year without them having to spend their own money. Secondly, we will provide teachers with décor for their classrooms. We know that a child’s learning environment is integral to their learning. We will have small furniture pieces, lighting, rugs, etc. that teachers can use for the school year and return at its conclusion. Finally, and last but not least, we will also provide teachers with a method that allows them to have fun with teaching by providing additional supplies with a twist! Our twist will include themed baskets for teachers to be able to check out (much like a library book) and return. The units they must teach throughout the academic year will inspire the themed baskets. When teachers are excited about teaching, students are excited about learning! Imagine learning about insects and being able to check out a basket with a beekeeper’s uniform, a honeycomb, a butterfly habitat, an ant farm, etc. Imagine a sea life-themed basket containing a taxidermy lobster, a shark jaw, a megalodon tooth (and its history), sea shells, starfish, and a crab to study body parts. The possibilities are endless for teachers, children, and their imaginations! We want to bring those imaginations to life and help foster the culture of teachers, their classrooms, and ultimately their students.
